Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Due to the risks of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), Rockwall Dermatology is taking extra precautions for your safety and the safety of our staff. As a partner in your healthcare we want to share our efforts to prevent transmission of COVID-19 while continuing to care for our patient's healthcare needs.

COVID-19 Policy

Rockwall Dermatology is actively following the guidelines for medical offices provided by our local government, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The COVID-19 guidelines and our related policy are subject to change with the evolving situation, and the most up-to-date information for our clinic can will be found here.

Appointments

  • In-person Appointments

Patients without COVID-19 risk factors may be scheduled for an in-person appointment and are asked to abide by the following precautions.

    • Social Distancing

Patients should come to their appointment alone if possible or with only one essential caregiver. All non-essential guests will be asked to wait outside the clinic.

    • Complete Intake Forms

All intake forms must be completed 48 business hours prior to the appointment and patients must arrive on time to avoid rescheduling.

  • Online TeleHealth Appointments

An Online Dermatologist appointment may be preferred if you are at higher-risk for severe COVID-19 illness or you want the convenience of virtual care. The CDC currently believes older adults and people with underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Online Dermatology appointments are required if any COVID-19 risk factors apply to you.

  • COVID-19 Risk Factors

    • IF you have a fever or symptoms of lower respiratory illness like cough or shortness of breath, OR
    • IF you have had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient within 5 days of symptom onset

Call us to cancel or re-schedule your in-person appointment or to schedule a TeleHealth appointment if any of these risk factors apply to you.

Screen and Clean

Our staff is instructed to recognize symptoms in themselves and others and will regularly screen for COVID-19. In the clinic we are continuing to practice universal precautions and we have implemented additional medical grade disinfecting measures in our waiting and common areas.

Clinic Hours

The clinic remains open to patients scheduled for in-person visits only, so if you need to speak with us please call us at 469-377-1700 during normal business hours.
